Compare all 15 set bonuses and learn when a full set is more useful than mixed pieces.
Description
Useful armor supports the current activity: fighting, harvesting, travel or stealth. Start with the effect you need, then consider quality and upgrade cost.
Full set or mixed pieces?
Each piece provides its own benefits. The additional set bonus requires four matching pieces: head, outfit, gloves and boots. Its tier is determined by the lowest quality in the set. Mixing sets retains individual piece benefits but does not create a full set.
Below are the 15 sets with bonuses in PC V3.2. Primitive armor is starter equipment without such a full-set bonus. Cosmetic appearances do not provide another copy of these stats. Tables show the set bonus, not the final result after perks and modifications.

Example specializations and equipment swaps
Melee and shotgun: combine Pummel Pete or Skull Crusher with Boomstick, and check stamina during power attacks. Choose armor based on whether you rely on movement or taking hits. Avoid investing in every weapon family at once.
Stealth archer: Archery, Hidden Strike and From the Shadows address different parts of stealth. Assassin equipment can support this style, but building triggers or an active horde require a plan for open combat.
Miner and builder: Miner 69’er develops tool use, Mother Lode improves harvesting, and Miner pieces support mining. Use Lumberjack equipment for woodcutting. Leave an escape route and bring food and water before entering a mine.
Work clothing need not be your armor for every expedition. Swap equipment for the activity and compare the benefit of an individual piece with the full-set bonus. A single Q6 piece may be more useful than a weak set, depending on the task.
Worked example
Three Q6 pieces and Q2 boots provide a Q2 set bonus. Replacing those boots with Q6 raises the set bonus to Q6. Boots from another set break the full set.
Common mistake
Reading a single-piece bonus as a full-set effect or treating +100% speed as zero elapsed time.
