How do I catch a live chicken?

Approach closely, preferably while sneaking, and use the displayed catch interaction. Carry the live chicken to a coop. Killing it for meat does not give you a chicken for breeding.

How do I carry a chicken without dropping it?

Watch its stress, avoid sprinting and stop to calm it. Moving while crouched also helps. Changing equipment or entering a vehicle can interrupt carrying a wild chicken.

Why is my coop not breeding chickens?

Breeding requires at least two chickens and a nesting box. Supply feed, time and space for new chickens. Egg production with one chicken does not mean breeding is possible.

Can I transport a domesticated chicken normally?

Yes. A domesticated chicken is an inventory item and does not use the wild chicken carrying stress mechanic. Keep part of your flock for breeding before using chickens for food.

How do I produce honey and avoid bees at an apiary?

Build the apiary, supply the required plants and collect its honey. A smoker prevents aggressive bees when opening the apiary. Other upgrades improve production but do not replace inputs.
