Answers describe the base game. World settings and mods can change its rules.

Do PS4 or Xbox One guides apply to the current game?

Only partly. The old console edition uses different systems and is not the current PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release. Check the edition before following a guide.

Can PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players play together?

Yes, the current game supports crossplay with compatible versions and session or server settings. This does not include the old PS4 and Xbox One edition. Not every PC server meets console requirements.

Does the current console edition have split-screen?

No. Local split-screen is not supported. Online multiplayer and the features of the old console edition are separate matters.

Why can my console friend not see my PC server?

Check matching versions, crossplay, privacy and search filters. The server must also satisfy console requirements, including EAC and player limits. Administrators should check the reported incompatible setting.

Do I always need to rent a server to play together?

No. A player can host a session, but must keep it running. A dedicated server is useful when the world should remain available without the usual host being present.

Why does joining a party not give access to my friend's base?

Parties and alliances are separate. Check your alliance with the land owner, container locks and access permissions. Sharing a quest does not automatically grant access to everything.

Will PC mods work with consoles and EAC?

Do not assume so. Compatibility depends on how the mod works, required client files and session rules. Check explicit support for the game version, EAC and crossplay. The term server-side alone is not a guarantee.

Why do server settings from an old guide have no effect?

Version 3.0 moved many options into Sandbox configuration. Create current settings in the game and apply the resulting SandboxCode in the server configuration. Old entries may no longer be supported.
