Wasteland

A ruined, dangerous biome with radiation storms. Plan an escape route and watch environmental status effects.

Biomes differ in hazards and weather. Biome progression, temperature and storms depend on world settings. Read the active effect before entering.

Temporary protection

With biome progression enabled, use this before the trip or before protection expires. One dose adds 5 minutes to this biome’s protection timer, capped at 15 minutes. Basic survival time without gear is 3 minutes. Watch the effect timer; shelter or leaving the biome lets protection recover.

Permanent protection

Equip the matching gear in the biome equipment slot on the character screen. Carrying it in your backpack does not protect you. Equipped gear removes this biome hazard’s time limit, but does not protect against temperature, storms or attacks.

Required biome challenges

Complete all 7 survival challenges for this biome and claim the group reward in the challenges screen. This unlocks the gear recipe. Then craft it with the listed ingredients and equip it. Another player who has unlocked the recipe can also craft the gear for you.

Wasteland Survival

  1. Find or Build Shelter

    Find a structure to take shelter. Be mindful of holes, windows, or doors that will prevent a proper shelter status.

    Shelter is needed to recover from biome hazards or for protection against deadly storms.

    Another option is to build your own shelter.

    Take shelter while in the Wasteland.

  2. Harvest Radiated Mushrooms

    With a faint green glow, Radiated Mushrooms are a key ingredient in radiation survival.

    Harvest some Radiated Mushrooms while in the Wasteland.

  3. Craft Fallout Flush

    Craft a Fallout Flush to help increase your survival time while exploring the Wasteland.

  4. Use Fallout Flush

    Survive longer in the Wasteland with a shot of Fallout Flush.

  5. Kill Wasteland Biome Zombies

    Covered in bloated pustules, the Mutated Zombies release bursts of acid when approached.

    Kill some Mutated Zombies and other undead while in the Wasteland Biome.

  6. Harvest Lead

    Not much to say about it. You need bullets? You're going to need Lead.

  7. Gather items for Radiation Gear

    Several items are needed to craft the Radiation Gear.
    Collect these items and complete all challenges in the Wasteland Biome to unlock the Radiation Gear recipe.
