Jennifer's Treasure Map

A treasure map starts a personal quest to find a buried chest. Read and accept it, then follow the marked search area. It is not a map of a fixed building.

How to find the treasure

Use the map in your inventory and accept its quest. Track it in the quest journal, travel to the marker and dig within the search circle with a shovel. Keep a way out of the hole. Locate the buried chest, open its lock with lockpicks or break the lock, then collect the loot.

The starting search radius is 9 m. Normally it shrinks after every 10 blocks dug; Treasure Hunter ranks 1, 2 and 3 reduce this to 7, 5 and 3 blocks. The position is generated for the quest, so another player’s coordinates are not a reliable guide.

The reward is random. Different map names identify different letters, not a guaranteed reward or a specific biome. This treasure hunt is not the trader’s Buried Supplies job. You can repeat these quests, but cannot share them through the quest-sharing option.

The map’s letter

To whomever finds this note,

Friend, the end is near. The monsters are breaking down my door, but in my final moments, I can only think of how I want to be remembered. Not as a coward, but as someone who thinks of others. I leave this map to one of my many secret buried chests to you.

God Bless You, Jennifer

The letter is story background. It does not add a rescue objective for the people it mentions.
